The members of the National Basketball Referees Association (NBRA) have ratified a Letter of Agreement with the NBA addressing issues related to the re-start of the season in Orlando, Florida. The Letter of Agreement provides for the officials’ waiver of certain work rules, including maximum duration of time away from home, that would be inconsistent with the league’s plan to house players, coaches, team staff and officials on an Orlando-based campus for the remainder of the season, including playoffs.

“We applaud the NBA for its efforts to make health and safety a top priority,” said NBRA General Counsel Lee Seham. “While the terms necessarily require sacrifice on the part of officials and their families, we share the league’s commitment to bringing professional basketball back to our nation in a responsible manner.”

The NBRA is proud to join the NBA community as we navigate the new normal, and deliver the best basketball product to the best fans in the world.
